Regional Exploration Targets

Regional Exploration Targets

North Country Gold Corp. and precursor companies have systematically explored the Committee Bay Greenstone Belt since 1992.  In addition to the high grade Three Bluffs gold deposit, the company has identified approximately 50 other high grade gold occurrences along the 300 km long CBGB.  Significant gold mineralization has been identified at West Plains, Anuri, Raven, Inuk, and Cop-Four Hills.

West Plains Project

The West Plains Project is located approximately 110 km southwest of Three Bluffs and 180 km northeast of Meadowbank in the southwestern portion of the CBGB.  High grade gold values have been recognized at the West Plains and Pickle occurrences within iron formation packages associated with a significant regional shear system.  Diamond core drilling at West Plains has intersected coherent zones of high grade gold mineralization including results up to 9.35 g/t Au over 14.91 m (05WP004) and 10.47 g/t Au over 12.00 m (06WP006).

Eastern Tonalite Project

The Eastern Tonalite Project is located approximately 50 km southwest of Three Bluffs within the south-central portion of the CBGB.  Rock sampling has identified a number of significant occurrences with high grade Au-Ag and significant concentrations of Cu-Pb-Zn within iron formation and intensely altered and deformed mafic and ultramafic volcanic rocks.  Anuri, the most significant occurrence within the project area, includes rock sample values up to 289.63 g/t Au and 1769.50 Ag.  Diamond core drilling at Anuri intersected 3.75 g/t Au, 63.7 g/t Ag, 0.75 % Cu and 158.2 ppm Bi over 10.21 m (06AR007B).  Recent work at Anuri has also recognized the presence of emeralds.

Northern Tonalite Project

The Northern Tonalite Project is located approximately 50 km west of Three Bluffs within the central portion of the CBGB.  High grade gold has been recognized at the Raven and Raven West occurrences within altered mafic volcanic rocks occurring within a significant shear system.  At Raven, rock sampling has identified a 500 m long outcrop containing 18 samples above 10 g/t Au and up to 143.90 g/t Au.  Diamond core drilling at Raven returned intersections of  4.69 g/t Au over 16.26 m (05RV001) and 31.10 g/t Au over 2.84 m (05RV002).

Inuk Project

The Inuk Project is located approximately 150 km northeast of Three Bluffs at the northern extremity of the CBGB.  Rock sampling in this project area has identified significant results at the Inuk, Mist, and Koffy occurrences.  The Inuk occurrence comprises a significant outcrop of altered and deformed iron formation with extremely high grade gold samples which assay up to 8,830.50 g/t Au.  Diamond core drilling at Inuk returned intersections of 10.86 g/t Au over 19.38 m (3I001B) and 11.18 g/t Au over 11.00 m (07IN006).

Cop - Four Hills Project

The Cop - Four Hills Project is located approximately 70 km west of Three Bluffs within the central portion of the CBGB.  High grade gold has been recognized at the Four Hills and Cop occurrences within deformed and altered iron formation units.  Rock sampling of outcrop has returned gold assays up to 48.07 g/t Au at Four Hills and up to 27.63 g/t Au at Cop.  Diamond core drilling returned intersections of 3.77 g/t Au over 5.94 m at Four Hills and 2.08 g/t Au over 6.09 m at Cop.
